Backflip for Animals Animals Tier List
S–C income rankings by progression stage — community guidance, not an official Roblox list.
Honesty first
This Animals Tier List for Backflip for Animals! ranks pets by income usefulness across early, mid, and late progression. It is community-oriented guidance inferred from how incremental simulators of this loop play — steal eggs, hatch, place, collect — not a developer-published official tier sheet. Always trust your collection machine ticks over any letter grade.
Released 2026-09-02, free to play, max 6 players per server. Mutations can bump a species a full grade; read Hatch Mutations before selling anything shiny.
How grades work
- S — Prioritize placing; best income for the stage
- A — Excellent; keep unless replaced by S
- B — Serviceable filler
- C — Early-only or situational; sell/fuse when slots tighten
Grades are stage-relative. A Safari pet can be S early and C in Legendary-era plots.
Ranking criteria
- Cash contribution per placement slot
- How soon you can obtain the egg on the biome ladder
- Synergy with collector / plot upgrades
- Mutation upside
- Opportunity cost versus stealing time
Biome ladder reminder: Savannah → Swamp → Safari → Canyon → Arctic → Mountains → Dinosaur → Deep Sea → Mythical → Legendary (Biomes Map).
Early game tier list (Savannah – Safari)
Goal: Fill slots, fund treadmill Speed, learn steals (Getting Started, Treadmill Speed).
| Tier | Guidance |
|---|---|
| S | Any higher-tick pet you can keep on the board from Safari/Swamp steals; first mutated anything |
| A | Solid Savannah–Safari normals that beat empty slots |
| B | Weak duplicates kept only until a better hatch arrives |
| C | Pure clutter once the plot is full — sell for upgrade cash |
Early rules
- Empty slots are worse than “C-tier” pets.
- Do not tunnel on Legendary names while your plot is half empty.
- Spend sell income on Speed before trails flex (Trails Tier List).
Mid game tier list (Canyon – Mountains)
Goal: Replace early clutter, stabilize Canyon+ farm loops (How to Steal Eggs).
| Tier | Guidance |
|---|---|
| S | Best mid-biome earners and strong mutations from Canyon/Arctic/Mountains eggs |
| A | Reliable mid normals; mutated early pets that still out-tick fresh failures |
| B | Remaining Safari-era placers awaiting replacement |
| C | Non-mutated Savannah leftovers occupying premium slots |
Mid rules
- Compare ticks when a mutation and a higher-biome normal compete.
- Begin using fuse/sell with intention, not panic.
- Animal Index claims still matter for free value while you optimize.
Late game tier list (Dinosaur – Legendary)
Goal: Max cash per slot; fund rebirth/plot endgame choices thoughtfully.
| Tier | Guidance |
|---|---|
| S | Top late-biome animals and high-impact mutations that dominate collector output |
| A | Strong Deep Sea / Mythical lines and excellent mutated mids that somehow still compete |
| B | Filler late normals while you hunt better rolls |
| C | Early and most mid non-mutated pets — liquidate |
Late rules
- Be ruthless on slot quality.
- A mutated mid can remain A/S — do not auto-sell mutations because the egg name sounded “older.”
- Stretch Legendary steals only when Speed supports them.
Mutation overlay (applies to every stage)
| Result | Suggested bump |
|---|---|
| Strong mutation on a mid species | Often +1 tier versus its normal form |
| Weak cosmetic-only vibe but equal ticks | Treat as the base tier |
| Mutation on already S species | Lock it; do not fuse casually |
If autofarm auto-sell is enabled on an alt, disable it before mutation hunting. Ban risk remains on Scripts.
What not to do with this list
- Do not invent exact cash/sec numbers the UI does not show you publicly.
- Do not ignore a free egg because a YouTube thumbnail said it is C tier.
- Do not skip Hatch Mutations decision trees.
- Do not treat this page as patch-proof — re-check after Updates.
Sample plot upgrade path (animals lens)
- Fill with anything (early S = “has a pet”).
- Replace with Safari/Canyon earners.
- Inject mutations as they appear.
- Swap to Dinosaur+ lines when steals allow.
- Rebirth only with a plan to rebuild slots quickly.

Method note for readers and future editors
We intentionally avoid fabricating a fake roster of official pet DPS stats. The S–C framework teaches slot quality thinking aligned with the steal → hatch → place loop. When the developers publish clearer stats or a major economy patch lands, re-test ticks and adjust grades. Until then, let your collection machine be the judge.
Play the ladder, keep the mutations that print, and sell nostalgia pets when Legendary eggs finally start landing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is this an official animal ranking?
No. It is community-oriented guidance based on progression and income usefulness, not a developer list.
Can a mutated early pet beat a normal late pet?
Yes. Always compare collection ticks before selling a mutation.
Should I leave slots empty waiting for Legendary eggs?
No. Empty slots earn nothing. Place the best you have now and replace later.
When do I sell C-tier animals?
When every slot is full and a clearly better hatch arrives, or when sell value completes a critical Speed upgrade.
Where should I go after this list?
